{"id":4471,"date":"2017-04-13T08:36:38","date_gmt":"2017-04-13T08:36:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sib.it\/?p=4471"},"modified":"2017-04-13T08:40:46","modified_gmt":"2017-04-13T08:40:46","slug":"il-regno-unito-si-prepara-a-entrare-nel-sistema-del-design-internazionale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sib.it\/en\/flash-news\/united-kingdom-prepares-to-join-international-design-system\/","title":{"rendered":"United Kingdom prepares to join international design system"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The United Kingdom intends to continue being a part of the international design system after Brexit: preparations under way to ratify Hague Agreement.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The British Minister for Intellectual Property <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theyworkforyou.com\/wms\/?id=2017-03-30.HCWS575.h&#038;s=Intellectual+Property\" target=\"_blank\">stated<\/a> last week that the United Kingdom is making preparations to ratify the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement on the international registration of designs, and that according to schedule by 6 April 2018 it should be possible to register a design in the country using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sib.it\/en\/design\/design-registrato-italia-ue\/design-internazionale\/\" target=\"_blank\">international design<\/a> system.<img class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4472\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sib.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/UK_big-ben.jpg\" alt=\"UK_big ben\" width=\"424\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sib.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/UK_big-ben.jpg 424w, https:\/\/www.sib.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/UK_big-ben-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 424px) 100vw, 424px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Hague Agreement allows users to obtain <strong>protection for a design in more than one state<\/strong> by filing a single application and designating the states in which protection is sought. The United Kingdom is not a member of the agreement, but it is possible to obtain an international registration valid in the United Kingdom as a member state of the European Union (which is a member of the agreement).<\/p>\n<p>The United Kingdom obviously intends to ratify the agreement in order to retain access to the international design system after the country\u2019s exit from the European Union.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United Kingdom intends to continue being a part of the international design system after Brexit: preparations under way to ratify Hague Agreement.
