But the competitive advantage that can be acquired through design is in jeopardy unless the intellectual property rights it gives rise to are adequately protected.<\/p>\n<p>Societ\u00e0 Italiana Brevetti has organised a talk on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breradesigndays.it\/2018\/eventi\/il-design-volano-dellinnovazione-powered-by-sib-spa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Design as a driver of innovation and key to marketing: protection and competitive edge<\/a> to take place on 16 October 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. at the Microsoft House in Viale Pasubio 21 in Milan.<\/p>\n<p>The event takes the form of a roundtable discussion between intellectual property experts and representatives of leading Italian design-centred enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>Access to real business experiences will help to point out which forms of protection are applicable to design, where the boundary lies between three-dimensional trademarks, design rights and copyrights, and how important it is to be aware of the interaction between the different intellectual property rights in a design.<\/p>\n<p>A food design lunch break is to follow the roundtables.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019ll be talking about intellectual property and design at the Brera Design Days, Milan\u2019s design week happening on 12-18 October 2018 in the city\u2019s Brera design district.
