Experience
Before joining SIB in 2001, Claudio spent more than 20 years with the European Patent Office in Munich, first as an examiner and later as Board of Appeal member. Claudio’s comprehensive insight into European Patent rules and procedures, together with his knowledge of chemistry, biotechnology and nanotechnology, have been invaluable in advising major companies on patent issues. Claudio is part of SIB’s Nano Bio Team, a multidisciplinary group of experts that deals with drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications concerning new technologies in the nanotechnology platform.
Claudio is enrolled with the Register of Court-Appointed Experts on Industrial Property of the Court of Rome, which is the Italian Court with the largest specialised IP section. He also acts as ex-parte expert in patent litigation.

Lecturing and publishing
Claudio contributes regularly to major international specialised journals, on subjects related to European Patent law and IP protection in ground-breaking technologies. He is frequently invited to lecture, in Italy and abroad, on patent issues in the fields of chemistry and biotechnology.

Italian Industrial Property Consultants Institute, Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (Harmonization Committee), FICPI (Biotechnology Committee); enrolled with the Register of Court-Appointed Experts on Industrial Property of the Court of Rome.
